Brown Dyed Board is a greyboard material dyed brown on both sides.

It can be cut, creased, folded, printed or left unprinted, depending on the finished product.
The dyed brown surface works well for packaging where a recycled or kraft-style appearance is part of the design.

Print performance is usually best for simple artwork, dark inks, single-colour print, stamps or basic branding.
Because the surface is brown rather than white, bright colours and fine image detail will not appear as sharp or vibrant as they would on white-lined board or coated cartonboard.
For packaging that needs high colour accuracy, detailed graphics or a premium printed finish, a white printable board may be the better choice.
Brown Dyed Board is a good option for businesses looking for a natural-looking board with decent stiffness and a practical surface finish.
It suits packaging that needs structure more than high-end print quality.
Typical uses include board-backed envelopes, postal packaging, cartons, folders, dividers, backing cards, craft sheets and recycled-look presentation packaging.
Its main limitation is that it is not designed as a barrier board.
It does not offer the same moisture, grease or water resistance as PE lined board, waxed board or specialist coated grades.
It is also not usually the first choice for direct food contact unless the exact grade has been tested and supplied for that purpose.
For alternatives, standard greyboard may be better where appearance is less important and cost is the main factor.
Kraft board may be better where a natural brown finish is needed with a stronger fibre-based packaging feel.
White-lined board may be better where cleaner print results, brighter colours or more detailed branding are required.
