From a packaging point of view, it is mainly used when a textured coloured paper is needed for wrapping, interleaving, presentation layers, product separation, or lightweight protective use.
It has a natural, matt finish rather than a glossy surface, which gives packaging a softer, more understated look.

Sugar Paper is not usually suited to wet, greasy, chilled, or outdoor packaging unless extra barrier protection is added.
