White lined greyboard is an uncoated board with a white face and grey reverse.
The white side gives a cleaner surface for presentation, print or mounting, while the greyboard core gives the sheet its stiffness and bulk.
It is often used where the visible face needs to look neater than standard greyboard, but the reverse side does not need the same finish.
This makes it a practical choice for packaging, display work and presentation products where appearance matters on one side only.
White lined greyboard is currently available in thicknesses from 1000 microns to 2000 microns, with FSC® grades available on request.
The main benefit of white lined greyboard is the balance between rigidity and a clean white working surface.
The greyboard base gives good stiffness for flat sheets, box panels, backing boards and mounted display work.
The white face gives a better surface for visual presentation than plain greyboard, especially for products that need a lighter, cleaner front-facing finish.
Because this grade is uncoated, it has a more natural paper surface rather than a glossy or sealed finish.
It can be suitable for simple print, mounting, gluing and converting, but print results will depend on the artwork, ink system and finish required.
For sharp colour work or high-end image reproduction, testing is recommended before production.
White lined greyboard is commonly used for presentation boxes, picture mounting, showcards, display boards, backing panels, folders and rigid packaging components.
It is well suited to jobs where the board needs to stay flat, feel solid and present a clean front surface.
The main limitation is that it is not a barrier board.
It is not designed to resist water, grease or heavy moisture, and it should not be used for direct food contact unless the exact grade has been confirmed as suitable for that purpose.
For best results, the board should be specified by thickness, sheet size, surface finish, print method and the level of rigidity needed for the finished product.
