Unlined Greyboard is a solid paperboard made from recycled paper and board fibres.
It has no white, kraft, black or coated liner added to the surface, which gives it a simple grey-brown appearance on both sides.
Because it is unlined, it is usually chosen for practical uses where the board does not need a decorative face.
It is often used as an internal, backing or protective board where stiffness, thickness and value are the main priorities.
The main benefit of Unlined Greyboard is its low cost, good rigidity and wide range of uses.
It gives solid support for flat packaging components, layer pads, interleaving sheets and backing boards.
The recycled fibre construction gives the board useful stiffness for its thickness, making it a practical choice for box making and general board conversion.
Print quality is limited compared with coated white or lined boards.
The surface is absorbent and visually plain, so it is better suited to basic marking, labels, wrapping or hidden structural uses rather than detailed printed artwork.
Unlined Greyboard is commonly used for layer sheets, interleaving sheets, notepad backs, box making, dividers, protective pads, backing boards and industrial packaging components.
It is a strong choice where the board will be covered, hidden, or used mainly for separation and support.
Standard Unlined Greyboard is not designed for wet, greasy or direct food contact applications.
It does not provide a water or grease barrier unless a separate coating, liner or wrap is added.
For best results, specify the board by thickness, sheet size, stiffness requirement, cutting method and whether the board will be exposed, covered or used inside another product.
