The face colour affects the finished look, while the core colour becomes visible when the board is cut, bevelled or used in picture mounts.

It works well for dry indoor applications where a smooth face, clean edge and stable backing are needed.
Standard Mountboard is not designed as a moisture barrier, grease barrier or direct food contact board.
It should be kept away from damp conditions unless a specific grade has been supplied for that purpose.
For best results, specify the board by thickness, colour, core type, sheet size and the finish needed for the final mounted piece.
