2 Sided PE Brown Lined Greyboard is a brown lined greyboard with polyethylene coating applied to both faces.
The greyboard base gives the material its thickness, stiffness and structure, while the brown liners give it a natural kraft-style appearance.
The PE coating adds a protective surface that helps resist moisture, grease and water transfer.
Because both sides are PE coated, the board can be used where protection is needed on the front and reverse, or where the board may be exposed to damp handling conditions on more than one face.
The main benefit of 2 Sided PE Brown Lined Greyboard is the mix of board rigidity, brown presentation and two-sided barrier protection.
The PE surface helps stop moisture and grease being absorbed straight into the paper fibres, which can help the board keep its shape for longer in damp or oily conditions.
The brown finish gives the material a more natural look than white coated board, while still offering a more resistant surface than standard unlined greyboard.
Print should be considered carefully.
The brown surface can make colours appear darker or less bright, and the PE coating may need treatment for ink, glue or labels to bond properly.
For printed or glued packaging, testing the exact grade is the safest route before full production.
2 Sided PE Brown Lined Greyboard can be used for packaging wet or greasy products, protective liners, layer sheets, interleaving sheets, chilled packaging components and industrial packaging.
It is useful where standard brown board would absorb moisture too quickly, but a natural brown appearance is still preferred.
It may be suitable for food-related packaging, but direct food contact should only be assumed when the exact grade has been confirmed as food contact approved.
The main limitation is recyclability.
Because this board combines paper fibre with polyethylene coating, it may be harder to recycle than uncoated greyboard or kraft lined board.
For best results, specify the board by thickness, coating side, moisture exposure, food contact requirement, print method and final packaging use.
